My name is Jeff Smith.  My woodworking journey started after marriage and was honestly a result of trying to get things done on a budget.  I figured there was no need to buy from a store or hire a handyman - I could probably figure it out.  And so I started making simple repairs and small builds like shelves.  This turned into building fun items for the family, like small furniture, cornhole boards, and holiday decorations.  Eventually this evolved into making wood craft gifts for family members.  Now, with H&S Craftsman, my goal is to bring that same joy of giving a handcrafted gift to everyone in middle Tennessee.

I get asked a lot what the H&S stands for.  It stands for Heart & Soul.  My wife and I's approach to our marriage is that we have one united heart & soul, with our family at the center of it.  I figured, what better ideal to name my business after?  Plus, it serves a dual purpose as woodworking is an activity I can put my heart and soul into to provide beautiful products to customers.
